Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual predictions, the game developer has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Uncovered
According to the official release, "A mysterious confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of forbidden practices and fearsome transformations reverberate through the darkness." The narrative features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a hidden sect.
The mission concentrates on "bizarre tests and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Changes
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Additional Features
Players who finish the quest will acquire an exclusive katana together with numerous items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Update
This release also adds the game's newest free story addition, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
